San Mateo Maker Faire 2009
I was back at the Maker Fair again this year on Saturday, May 30th. It was terrific, probably the best one so far. This was my first time arriving early, and that worked out beautifully because the fairgrounds got so crowded in the afternoon I think I would have had trouble getting around to look at everything.

I went with my friend Josh, which was great, because he was a great navigator, and he paid for the gas. We arrived before they opened the gates and witnessed the remarkable snake of visitors in line waiting to enter. Pictured is a guy in front of me marveling at the queue behind us.

Soldering guns lined up for use in one project area.

The R2D2 builder's club (astromech.net) shared a space with the Wall-E builder's club.

No, really.

Exploratorium village of booths, just prior to being overrun.

The Quadrilla booth, pre-invasion.

Impressive waving mobile of 2-liter soda bottles from Applied Kinetic Arts.
