From a display of African inventions. This is a water transporter.

In the future you'll be able to pick one of these up at 7-11. It will be motorized, filled with ice cold Coke and marketed as the Big Gulp Thirst-Smasher.

Pivoting mirror array for solar energy collection. I didn't catch who created this display.

A homemade car. Note the baby seat.

This huge sculpture caught the wind and rotated almost continously. There was a line of people waiting to stand in the center.

Melting pennies and lost-wax casting with solar energy. They rigged a large fresnel lens to focus the heat.

And that's about it. Another terrific San Mateo Maker Faire in 2009. I had a few nanocomplaints but nothing worth noting here.

What an awesome event. Exhibitors I'm interested in, projects I want to see and people I can understand. It is as if they planned this event just for me.
