Microwave vs. Stovetop Melt-Off!

page 2

At 5:18, the melt-off started.

My electric range top heated up quickly, and the ice began sinking into a little puddle.

It is difficult to photograph what is happening within a microwave oven. It looked like the ice was slowly melting.

Our Emerson microwave is fitted with a tiny turntable to ensure even heating.

The professional models have two turntables and a sliding cross-fader.

After three minutes, the rangetop ice was half-melted, and the liquid water was quickly boiling off into steam.

I peered back and forth between the stovetop and the microwave oven, watching for who was ahead.

After four minutes and twenty-six seconds, there was a winner!

The stovetop ice was completely melted. Stovetop wins!

I snapped this photo of the almost-melted microwave ice. There was only a tiny chunk remaining, perhaps the size of a marshmallow.

It would have been completely melted in 20 more seconds.

Thanks for reading the Stovetop vs. Microwave meltoff! I hope you guessed right, although it was pretty much a tie.

Thank you!
