Ellen Show Accidently Gives Away $300,000
Mazda trunk filled with mountain of cash before being given away

What an expensive error. The other day, Ellen rewarded this guest with a new Mazda.

This gal Keenia was telling Ellen her story of pulling a victim out of crashed vehicles on two seperate occasions. Not only did Ellen give her a beautiful new Mazda, she also surprised her with a trunk full of cash: $10,000!

Check out this pile of money! Bundles and bundles.

But, the production staff must have screwed up, because these were bundles of one hundred dollar bills.
Not a lot of these bundles find their way into my life, but I have studied them, as part of my study on how much is inside a million dollars. Each bundle is one centimeter thick, and has 100 bills inside. Each bundle holds $10,000.

But this trunk has a pile of bundles, all $100 bills!
Visible from the camera angles on the show, there are many bundles visible. Here, there are 10 bundles highlighted in red.

Another ten bundles are highlighted here, in blue.

And the remaining visible bundles are highlighted here, in green, for a total of thirty bundles, or $300,000.

This is an extraordinary haul. My theory is that the money for an entire season's giveaways was being stored in the trunk of this Mazda, and it was accidentally given away to Keenia in one fell swoop.
I hope they figured out the error and she gave it back. Well, except for her $10,000 prize!
